Zachary Livingston has obtained the second permit required for the future home of Floodwater Brewing Co. On Tuesday, the Selectboard quickly approved a [MA Farmer Series] pouring permit, so that his premises at 40 State St. will be able to both serve glasses of beer and sell bottled beer made on the premises.

The building, a former gift shop and framing shop, is still undergoing renovations. After the permit hearing, Livingston said he plans to have a couple of beer tanks and flooring installed in about a month.

Livingston is putting in a first-floor tasting area, sampling bar, a brewery viewing area, and a small deck or porch with outdoor seating that overlooks the Deerfield River. He hopes to be open for business sometime this fall.
