If you build it, they will come. Colrain, Massachusetts notwithstanding, the place to be is the place where everyone can find you – online. Austin Design Inc. has spent the last several months in development of a completely new website – not a renovation or rebuild, but all-new construction from the ground up. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the address: we’re still residing at austindesign.biz on a web access device near you. Working with Jason Jensen of J. Jensen Creative, a web developer and WordPress specialist working out of Brattleboro, Vermont, ADi is quite pleased to announce the launch of our brand-new home on the web. We hope our online presence becomes a popular and distinguished destination amongst architectural firms in Massachusetts and Vermont, New England in general, and far beyond. It’s the worldwide web, after all.
As with any construction project (about which we’ve learned a thing or two), we began with a perceived need and a basic sense of what might meet that requirement. In a turnabout of roles, Austin Design was the client seeking professional advice and Jason Jensen filled the architect’s shoes as consultant and implementer. True to form, our process began with sharing of goals, ideals, and priorities: the collaboration had begun. We wanted a site that would be a joy to surf and a pleasure to navigate, that conveyed our team approach to planning, design, and architecture, and that we could keep fresh, inviting, and dynamic. We think you’ll enjoy the result.
Driven entirely by imagery, ADi’s new screen presence fills your monitor with luscious full-sized photographs of our past and current commercial, residential and community projects, using streamlined slider controls and vanishing text boxes. Succinct descriptive copy is available to help paint the picture; a simple color palette keeps the view clear and appealing; and carefully constructed page templates maintain a fluid experience throughout the website. Spinning off Austin Design’s square red “tile” logo, the navigation categories, the project symbols, and even the scroll buttons deliver a comprehensive, well-thought-out, and skillfully-constructed experience, a web presence that exemplifies our team’s approach to every one of our commissions.
Now that we have an efficient, sustainable, and beautiful new residence online, we can continue to furnish it with content: our accomplishments with our partners, our inspirations and interests, profiles of our people both inside and outside the office, notes about our hopes and dreams. We plan to highlight a number of the website’s notable features in upcoming posts on this company blog, so stay tuned, please: bookmark the address, subscribe to the RSS feed, and join our social networks. Austin Design welcomes your feedback and your comments – let’s get this project underway.
