This year-round training facility for a tri-athlete includes a seventy-five-foot-long swimming pool, bath with shower, and mechanical room. The building’s form reveals both function and structure, as the roof floats above the walls on a clerestory of windows supported by exposed Douglas Fir studs, four feet on-center. Sliding glass doors punched into the horizontal siding along the north and south walls allow for natural ventilation and a transparency that unites inside to¬†outside. This project has garnered three awards and publication in Dwell magazine.
